We didn't make much changes, we were short of time. We added in Iban traditional dance, with little Jia Xin as Iban girl :D
You're on candid camera!
Well it did took some time for them to master the Iban dance, as they did when they tried different movements of Zapin. All traditional dances of the different races are different: in nature, in body language, in anyway in almost every way. Gentle and meek for one; hot and explosive the other; swift and elegant yet another...... Different "texture" I would say, and it wasn't easy for them to pick up.
We are champion, when we are one :)
The judges enjoyed the last song - We Are Young, guess that might be the first time they listened to that song. The senior assistant of Ai Chun 2 was as enticed, when the kids performed one day before the competition, which was Teacher's Day. My mum said she stood up when she heard the songs, cool~ And then there's another teacher whose heart was caught by the second song - We Are One. Good combination of song, inspiration comes when we work as one family :D
I was so so touched to see them performing their best on stage! They may be mischievous, noisy and much of a nuisance during practice, and handling them was no mean feat, but they always give their best when the spotlight is on them. Children do need proper attention, don't they?
The kids rushed to me to ask if they did okay, I smiled and gave them recognition :) They deserved it.
Team No.9 was a strong opponent, their performance made me worried. The props they prepared, the costume they wore, they were good. Lost half of my appetite after that T.T But then the other half of my appetite that remained was enough for me to finish a packet of chicken rice, HAHA! XD
Jia Jia kept asking me about my cross necklace, as I'd told her before that my God comes with power when I wore that. I didn't know it meant so much to her. X) She didn't want to go home without the champion, as she said, "不要给Rhoda姐姐骂我!" (My sister told them not to come back without the champion XD) So I told her to pray with me, and she did!
Tension was building up in the hall. We were so nervous when the results were finally announced, my mum literally had her hands cramped!! Well not surprising, my mum put in a lot of effort - Looked for tailors to sew the dresses, searched high and low for the traditional costumes, sat in front of the PC night after night to observe the traditional dances. That's a whole load I know, because I was "assistant manager" who worked alongside my mum with whatever I mentioned above, lol. XD
Well, God granted us the championship, so this glory belongs to Him! :D
God will be with us till the end! =)
